Teagan Emi Takahashi

Summers Henderson produced, directed and edited this 7-minute documentary, along with Oriyah Yoran, Jitu Huntley and Bryant Jones.  The film is a group portrait of a family living in Brooklyn, New York, including two parents and four grandparents, whose lives revolve around a one-year-old girl named Teagan Emi Takahashi.  Her mother's side of the family is Irish, and her father's side is Japanese.  Together, they try to raise Teagan with love and optimism for the future.

Summers and his colleagues completed "Teagan Emi Takahashi" as part of the International Documentary Challenge.  The filmmakers were given a genre -- biography -- and a theme -- faith -- and required to complete a short documentary in only five days.
